Frank William Schober - 10/3/1923 - 4/13/2014

Frank William Schober, age 90, of Minor Heights, Alabama, departed this earth on Sunday, April 13th, 2014. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Annie Majerik Schober, and his eldest daughter Patricia Ann Schober. He leaves behind his sons William "Bill" A. Schober (Cheryl) and Donald R. Schober, as well as four daughters: Bernadette Schober Diamond (Mike), Catherine Schober Forsythe, Doris Schober Moody (Eddy), and Janie Schober Ingram (Jerrold). He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren: Andy Schober (Jennifer), Adam Schober (Crystal), Capt. Christopher Harding (USAF) (Katie), Matthew Moody (Sarah), Jennifer Forsythe, Jonathan Moody (Luisa), Bert Forsythe, Daniel Moody, Alex Forsythe, and Brett Bolton. Surviving great-grandchildren are Mason Schober, Elli Schober, Noah Schober, Hannah Harding, Sofia Moody, and Christopher Harding. The family expresses grateful appreciation for the loving and professional care provided by his niece Margaret Moody. Mr. Schober retired from U.S. Steel after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Among his many accomplishments he was instrumental in establishing the Minor Heights Fire District, and served as its first board chairman. He loved playing music on his accordion and keyboard, and sharing it on his Grandpa Schober website. He also enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with and building clocks, fishing, and gardening. He was a longtime devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 301 Shamrock Trail, Adamsville, Alabama.
