Comments: I am a one man band playing keys, saxes, clarinet, penny whistles etc....and I am always searching for old midi tunes and today I discover this site! Was actually looking for oompah tunes and then all of these golden oldies pop up. I will be performing at a 100th birthday next month, a first for me, so this site has been a great help.

Comments: I'm saddened to learn of Mr. Schober's passing.

Many years ago, barely out of school, I began my career in music. I was lucky to begin in the polka field, with well established musicians like the American Polka King, Frankie Yankovic, and Walter Ostenak, of Canada.

In those days, I played bass guitar, guitar and banjo.

Being a young man at the time, polka was not my dream and I saw myself moving toward a more county style. I was, again, lucky enough to fall in with excellent musicians in that field. I've done most everything I ever wanted to do and still enjoy every performance. I've raised a family. In fact, music brought my wife and I together during the polka days, when we met on stage, 37 years ago. (Talk about a long shot. Ha~!)
